Four in a row, November 2017 |
Icon is the lower site on Kendall Street, the more southern one
with the better view of the football stadium. It was crawling with earthmovers
and piledrivers and stacked with foundation materials like the re-bar pylon
frames we can see here, in front of and behind the machines.
The hill we can see in the distance on the left is Point Clare,
a suburb between Gosford and the Woy Woy Peninsula.
Pile driving on the Icon site, November 2017 |
Pile-driving down into the clay, on a warm sunny November
morning. Thirsty work.
Propping up the cracked clay cut, November 2017 |
A screw mechanism from another pile-driver and a pile of spoil
appear to be propping up the cut of cracked and drying clay behind them. We’ve
had a little bit of rain and now we’re having a lot of sunny days in a row,
drying out the clay and soil on the sites.
Checking the levels, November 2017 |
Off to check the theodolite to make sure the levelling out is on
track. It wouldn’t do to find out later the building was slightly off-kilter.
It was a long time before this site broke ground but it’s moving
fast now and I look forward to seeing what else has been done this time next
week.
That's all the pages for today, all four of them. Come back later this week for more or sign up in the email pinger box in the sidebar on the right --->
